Sharing Computer Sound During Screen Sharing

You can share sound during a screen share as the host or as an attendee by clicking the “Share Screen” icon. If you are the host you do not need to grant screen share access rights for another participant to share their screen. However, as the host you can prevent participants from accessing screen share. For free or basic accounts the default screen share setting is Only Host.

  • To share your screen, you need to have Zoom Desktop Client or Zoom Mobile App. Zoom allows you to use a desktop, tablet, or mobile device.
  • Begin your screen share by clicking the “Share Screen” button located in your meeting controls indicated by the red box in Figure 1.
    • This will open a window that allows you to select the screen you want to share. You can also choose to share an individual application that is already open on your computer, desktop, whiteboard, or iPhone/iPad.

  • You will need to click the “Share Screen” button to begin your screen share. (Figure 2)
    • Zoom will switch to full screen to optimize the shared screen view. You can exit full-screen by clicking the “Exit Full Screen” icon in the top-right corner or by pressing the “Esc” key. If you want to disable automatic full screen when viewing a shared screen, disable this option in your desktop client settings.
