If it is allowed by Workspace Owners and Admins, you can edit and delete the messages you send. When you delete a message, it is permanent. Workspace Owners and Admins can delete anyone’s messages in public channels, and in private channels. You are not able to bulk delete messages.
Editing a Message
- Desktop
- Hover over the message you want to edit.
- Click the three vertical dots icon.
- Click “Edit Message.”
- Select “Save Changes” to finish.
- iOS
- Tap and hold the message you want to edit.
- Tap “Edit Message” (pencil icon) and make your changes.
- Tap the check mark icon to finish.
- Android
- Tap and hold the message you want to edit.
- Tap “Edit Message” (pencil icon) and make your changes.
- Tap the check mark icon to finish.
Deleting a Message
- Desktop
- Hover over the message you want to delete.
- Click the three vertical dots icon.
- Click “Delete Message.”
- Select “Delete” to confirm.
- iOS
- Tap and hold the message you want to delete.
- Tap “Delete Message” (trash can icon).
- Tap “Delete Message” again to confirm.
- Android
- Tap and hold the message you want to delete.
- Tap “Delete Message” (trash can icon).
- Tap “Delete” again to confirm.
