TABLE OF CONTENTS

In lieu of invoicing iDesign, you need only to record the time you work on iDesign projects in Tick. Inputting your time entries accurately and in a timely manner will ensure that you have a positive experience with us.

Making an entry

Once logged-in, you should be in the Timecard tab. Choose the appropriate project in the client or project name drop-down menu. Select the appropriate date and task, from the drop-down menu. Add detailed notes that will provide insight into the work you completed. This will help our accounting team fill in the gaps should any questions arise.

Time Notations

Tick accepts time entries in both minutes (1:30 - 1 hour 30 minutes) and decimal notation (1.5). Tick stores all entries in decimal notation for reports and to facilitate calculating invoices.

The decimal point is used to represent a percentage of an hour. You can review the examples below to see how this will be applied to your entries.

2.25 = 2 hours 15 minutes 2.5 = 2 hours 30 minutes 1.7 = 1 hour 42 minutes

You can designate minutes by utilizing the colon.

2:15 = 2 hours 15 minutes 2:30 = 2 hours 30 minutes 1:42 = 1 hour 42 minutes

Best Practices

  • Enter time regularly, preferably on a daily basis.
  • Make liberal use of the note function. This provides detailed records about what you have been working on.
  • You may want to make use of Tick's live time tracking feature. Before you begin a work session, select the appropriate task and then click on the stopwatch icon next to "Enter Time". Taking a break but not done with this project task? Hit the red button to pause the time. When done, hit the "Enter Time" button.
