Slack Huddles make it possible to have quick, live conversations with the people you work with in Slack. Review the Slack help guide for information on how to Take Actions during a Huddle.



Receiving a Huddle Invitation

On Desktop

A notification sound will play and you’ll see the invitation in the bottom left corner of your sidebar. Here’s how to accept an invite on desktop:

  • Click the Join button from the notification in your sidebar.
  • Waiting to start? click the microphone icon or press ShiftSpace (Mac) or CtrlShiftSpace (Windows/Linux) to mute your microphone.



On Mobile

A notification sound will play and you’ll see the invitation in the bottom left corner of your sidebar. Here’s how to accept an invite on mobile devices:

  • Tap the banner notification at the top of your screen, or tap Join from the invitation
  • Waiting to start? Tap the microphone icon to mute your microphone.






Join an Active Huddle

When someone has started a huddle in a channel or DM you belong to, you’ll see a blue antenna icon next to the channel name in your left sidebar. Here’s how to join:


On Desktop

  • From a channel or DM, click the headphones toggle in the bottom left corner of your sidebar.
  • Waiting to start? click the microphone icon or press ShiftSpace (Mac) or CtrlShiftSpace (Windows/Linux) to mute your microphone.


On Mobile

  • From the Home tab, tap the antenna icon next to a channel or DM.
  • Tap Join.





Leave Huddle

Anyone can leave a huddle at any time, including the person who started it. Huddles automatically end when the last person leaves.


On Desktop

  • To leave a huddle, click the headphones toggle in the bottom left corner of your sidebar or press ShiftH (Mac) or CtrlShiftH (Windows/Linux).


On Mobile

  • From the channel or DM where the huddle is taking place, tap the antenna icon in the top right corner of the screen.
  • Tap Leave.
