Zoom is used on a daily basis across all iDesign roles. The article below are recommendations that will facilitate an optimal user experience.

Using SSO to Login

Here at iDesign we pride ourselves on maintaining the confidentiality of our partners. One way in which we do this is by ensuring that all of our communications are secure. For this reason, we require all iDesigners to access Zoom from the OneLogin dashboard or by selecting Google to sign in.

Google SSO

  1. Go to the Zoom desktop client or sign-in page on the Zoom portal.
  2. Below the standard email and address password entry, click the Google icon. Doing so will bring you to the Google sign-in page.
  3. Enter or select your credentials. If you do not have an active OneLogin session, you will be redirected to the OneLogin sign-in page first.

OneLogin SSO

  1. Go to the OneLogin sign-in page.
  2. Select the Zoom App. Doing so will automatically launch Zoom in another tab and sign you in for the day.

Pro-Tip: Sign into your Zoom account at the beginning of the day from the OneLogin dashboard or your desktop client to ensure you are signed in for a day of meetings.

Using the Desktop Client

We highly recommend downloading and installing the Zoom desktop client. It is particularly useful if you are in and out of meetings throughout the day. With the desktop client, you can quickly view your upcoming and recorded meetings, join meetings with one click instead of navigating through calendar invites and notifications, and quickly schedule ad-hoc meetings with the click of a button.

Download and Install

View the Zoom Download page for a list of desktop clients, add-ins, and browser extensions you can start using to upgrade your efficiency game!

Regularly Checking for Updates

Zoom is continually enhancing their security protocols and features. To ensure you are having the best experience possible, we recommend you make it a habit to regularly check Zoom for updates. While it is true that Zoom will send out a push notification to let you know the version you are using is in need of an upgrade, it is far better to make the update in your "Zoom down time" than have the update pushed out before an important meeting. For more information on how to manually upgrade to the latest version, review the Zoom support article Upgrading Zoom to the latest version.

If you prefer to have Zoom push out automatic updates, review the Zoom support article Get Automatic Updates in the Zoom Client to learn how to set this up.

Consider Your Surroundings

We recommend choosing a location with a professional-looking background. If it is not possible to set-up a professional-looking background at your current location be sure to make use of the video setting Blur my background at a minimum. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, we encourage you to explore the various virtual backgrounds and filters. Not sure where to find those?
